Jim Balschweit and Kathy Harris host the live auction at Lollapalooza.

On Feb. 27, the Ti-Ahwaga Community Players (TCP) held its annual fundraiser, Lollapalooza. Thanks to the generosity of the community, there were 67 auction items ranging from original art work from Anything Artistic and sterling silver earrings from Katie’s Kreations, to a weekend for six on Seneca Lake and a three day Wild Hog Hunt from Lock-N-Load.

Jim Balschweit and Kathy Harris hosted the live auction. Lockheed Martin, The Goat Boy, Steve and Cheryl May, Tioga State Bank, Scott Smith and Son, and Peak Performance generously underwrote the event. As a non-profit, TCP depends on these generous donations to fund the season’s productions and maintain a state of the art theater facility.

Before the auction began, guests enjoyed wine and beer from local vendors to include the FarmHouse Brewery, Glen Park Vineyards, Hopshire Farm and Brewery, Six Mile Creek, Thirsty Owl, Three Brothers Wineries and Lawler’s Liquors.

Guests feasted on an expansive buffet dinner that included poached salmon, shrimp, grilled pork tenderloin and culminated with Jaret’s delicious stuffed cupcakes. Terry Morey and his mob music service, as well as TCP’s “Balloon Pop” with 50 possible wins provided entertainment.

Ti-Awaga Community Theater is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide entertainment and educational opportunities to the Southern Tier. TCP is the longest, continuously running Community Theater and the only live theater in Tioga County with a home base.

TCP is currently holding auditions for its spring musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Auditions will be held on Thursday evening, March 31 and Saturday, April 2. Appointments can be made by calling the theater at 687-2130. The show will open on June 3, and will run for three consecutive weekends.
