Boys and Girls Club receives grant

The Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation recently awarded a $4,212 grant to the Tioga County Boys and Girls club for a new program – Pickle Ball, a basketball shot clock, and a new drinking fountain as well as well needed sports equipment.

The club is very excited about this new program as there is already a buzz among the senior citizen club members; but more importantly all ages from grade school to high school to young adults will be able to participate.

The new drinking fountain will eliminate the many years of repair bills keeping the current fountain running.

As for the shot clock, this will improve the quality of play and put the club in line with other facilities that have shot clocks where club teams visit and play games at.

The Tioga County Boys and Girls club extends their appreciation to the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation for this award and looks forward to filling these needs and starting this new program.
