The Pennsylvania Connection

Dear Editor,

The Pennsylvania Connection. On the railroad property along the south side of Delphine Street, Owego, a For Sale sign has recently been placed. The names on the sign are “Cushman & Wakefield – Pyramid Brokerage Company, Inc.” The phone number given is Pyramid’s 607 number in Binghamton.

The only Cushmore & Wakefield listed in the phone book is Cushman and Wakefield of Pennsylvania, with a 717 area code phone number. That area code is in south-central Pennsylvania, but their address is given as in Susquehanna, Pa., which is in the 570 area. The white pages of the phone book list the Owego Harford Railroad with an address on Delphine Street and a 687 phone number. The yellow pages under “Railroads” list that as well but also list the Luzerne-Susquehanna Railroad (in PA) with the same Delphine Street address but a different 687 phone number.

When I look out my front window I can see the For Sale sign and the large open field between Delphine Street and the tracks, I want to know if I will still be able to go into that field and pick the wild strawberries. I have also seen deer running back and forth there, as well as rabbits and ground hogs.

Sincerely,

Karl Tiemann

Owego, N.Y.
