OA’s Foundation for Excellence in Education is accepting applications

The Owego Apalachin Foundation For Excellence in Education, a community wide, independent, not-for-profit organization is accepting applications. Application forms may be requested through Feb. 28, and can be downloaded by visiting www.oafoundation.com up until the deadline. Grants will be awarded at the Annual Grants Award Ceremony planned for Wednesday, April 27 at the Owego Apalachin Middle School, 3 Sheldon Guile Blvd., Owego, N.Y.

Ideas for grants can be submitted by students, teachers, staff, parents, residents, businesses and/or agencies. The Foundation will be looking for ideas that will help prepare students for the challenges of this century and enhance their educational experiences.

The Foundation encourages grant requests up to $500 per grant. Only one request per program will be allowed. Multiple grants will be awarded in one period. Grants must be used within one year of acceptance. No stipends will be accepted. No recess or playground equipment will be accepted. No instructor training will be accepted.

To request a grant application, contact the Owego Apalachin Foundation For Excellence in Education, P.O. Box 576, Apalachin, N.Y. 13732. After receiving the written application request, a copy of the application with instructions will be mailed to you. You may also download an application by visiting oafoundation.com. Completed grant applications must be received or postmarked on or before Feb. 28.

The Foundation’s mission is to enhance the education of the students within the Owego Apalachin district boundaries, public and non-public, by providing private funding and stimulating community support for innovative and challenging educational programs.
