State Police arrest Pennsylvania man who was speeding at 108 mph and had over two ounces of marihuana

On Jan. 26, 2016, at about 10:26 a.m., New York state Police at Binghamton arrested Timothy J. Naughton Jr., 20, of Athens, Pa. for the misdemeanor of criminal possession of marihuana 4th.

According to police, this arrest occurred after a traffic stop when Timothy J. Naughton Jr. was observed speeding at 108 mph, in his 2010 Toyota Prius on Interstate 81 south in the Town of Barker.

After seeing a metal grinder with marihuana inside the car in plain view a search was conducted. Timothy J. Naughton Jr. was found to unlawfully possess over two ounces of marihuana.

Timothy J. Naughton Jr. was arraigned in the Town of Barker court and was remanded to the Broome County jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 property bond.  His next court date in the Town of Barker is on Feb. 16, 2016.
