On Jan. 25, 2016, New York State Police at Owego arrested Lynette F. Halstead, 32, of Candor, N.Y. for the class E felony of grand larceny 4th.
This arrest occurred after troopers were advised of unauthorized purchases that were made to a credit card on Aug. 28, 2015.
An investigation determined that Lynette F. Halstead had secretly taken a credit card from the owner’s purse when the owner was visiting her home on County Route 96 in the Town of Candor. She then used the stolen credit card to make three unauthorized purchases at local stores, that valued less than $100 total, and then was able to return it the owner’s purse without being detected.
Lynette F. Halstead was arraigned in the Town of Candor court and was remanded to the Tioga County jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond. Her next court date in the Town of Candor is on Feb. 1, 2016.
