Ronald T. ‘Bud’ Cook, 88

Ronald T. “Bud” Cook, 88, of West Warren, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016. Bud, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was born on the family farm on May 19, 1927.

A son of the late John Tyler and Aline (Beckwith) Cook, he was a graduate of the LeRaysville High School class of 1944. On Nov. 19, 1954 he married Joanne Chaffee, together they shared 39 years of marriage until her passing on Dec. 28, 1993.

For many years, Bud owned and operated the family farm. Bud was also a meticulous woodsman, and a Steward of the Lukens, (a large tract of timber near West Warren). He enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting, and traveling the countryside. Many will remember him as he played on the West Warren Baseball team with the Tri-County league.

Bud is survived by his daughters and son-in-law: Jill and Jay Edwards of Owego; Roberta Seeley of Warren Center, Pa.; his sons and daughters-in-law: Scott and Lynn Cook of West Warren, Pa.; Roger and Janean Cook of Nichols, N.Y.; his sisters: Carol “Cal” Cook of Rome, Pa.; Alice C. “Tink” Brown of Rome, Pa.; a brother Bernard “Edie” Cook of Warren Center, Pa.; a sister-in law: Sherry Lunger, of Florida; his special grandchildren: Jocelyn (Ian) Mumbulo, Jolene (Adam) Williams, Amanda (Myron) Eastman, Kaleena (Joe) Dughi, Tyler (Cathy) Cook, Nate Seeley, Andy Seeley, Daniel Seeley and Reed Cook; his great grandchildren: Zachary, Austin, Jared Mumbulo; Edwin, Charles, Gerald Eastman; Caleb and Kara Dughi. Joanne’s Aunt, Yvonne Cole, of Nichols; several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families also survive.

Family and friends were invited to attend a period of visitation on Sunday, Jan. 10, at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols and on Monday, Jan. 11. Funeral services and a celebration of Bud’s life followed.
