Candor is helping children smile

Dear Editor,

The Make a Child Smile committee would like to thank the generous Candor community for their support in providing a merrier Christmas for over 100 Candor children this holiday season!

The program was supported this year by the Candor community and local citizens who shopped for children, the Sons of the Candor American Legion, the Candor American Legion, the Candor American Legion Auxiliary, the Cornell University Elves program, kind elves from the Cornell Vet Medical Center, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, McKendree United Methodist Church, Grace Bible Church, Allen Memorial Baptist Church, Candor Congregational Church, Candor High School Key Club, Candor Central School District faculty and staff, the New Quilters on the Block, Joan Hunt, and Dollar General and their thoughtful customers.

We also thank the Tioga State Bank Candor branch staff for their ongoing help with logistics in supporting the program. Most of these organizations have provided yearly support in bringing a brighter holiday to families that need a little extra help, and we are grateful for the kindness and generosity of our community!

We truly appreciate everyone who shopped, donated, and supported our Make a Child Smile efforts this year. Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,

The Candor Make a Child Smile committee
