Interesting. While our “president” blathers about the U.S. accepting 10,000 Syrian “refugees”, he and his minions have secretly already brought in about 100,000. Wonder why he or the media haven’t made that known? In Germany they want their guns back to defend themselves from the hordes invading their cities, robbing, looting and raping. Just what we need more of, don’t you think? Can’t wait for this final year to be over so we can get an actual adult in the Oval Office and do the Serv-Pro thing, “Like it never even happened!”

~

What planet does this fraudulent occupant of the oval office live on? Talk about an alternative universe! Because he didn’t watch enough cable news, he didn’t know how upset people were over the shootings in Paris and San Bernardino? You’ve got to be kidding! Exactly what does he THINK people think about radical militant Islamists shooting up innocent people? Give me a break! I can’t wait for this walking disaster to be gone!

I see the county raised taxes. Awaiting Joe Chartrand’s rant about the county.

It sure would be nice if the people who are so adamant about protecting second amendment rights were just as insistent about protecting first amendment rights.

A nice men’s sport coat has been found at the Newark Valley Fire Station hall. Call 642-8789 to identify.

This is addressed to the person that is upset because congress is not using the secret federal “no-fly” list to prevent people from buying guns which (s) he incorrectly calls “weapons of mass destruction” and addressed to those who feel the same way. It has been shown that there are people on the list in error (due to a mistake, a similar name or just someone to interview) and because people are placed on the list without due process, we are at the slippery slope of tyranny. Using the list to deny citizens their God-given, Constitutionally protected rights without Due Process is clearly over the edge and is the very essence of tyranny. This would set a very dangerous precedent for our free society, because where would the secret lists, background checks and the denial of rights stop? How about secret lists and background checks for buying fertilizer or pressure cookers (someone might make a bomb), cars (two recent incidents were a driver intentionally plowed down a bunch of pedestrians), computers or cell phones (they might be used for hacking, distributing child porn and/or making drug deals)? The last I checked, this was still a free country, people were innocent until proven guilty and Due Process was required to deny someone there God given Constitutionally protected rights. Looks like the Republicans are in charge and are doing their job to protect and uphold our Constitution. I wouldn’t call that being a “Fool”, a “buffoon”, a “coward” or a “thumb-sucker”.  I would apply those terms to the Democrats that would disregard our Constitution and flush our rights down the toilet. If we allow this subversion of our Constitution, then the terrorists have already won. I hope that, if the Democrats get their way, you, and those who think like you, end up on a secret list and are denied a Constitutionally protected right that is dear to you. Maybe then you will wake up and see reality. I also hope that when you do wake up, that it is not too late to undo the damage that will have been done to our rights and to this great country.

Owego Free Academy needs a new football coach. How about looking into a Maine Endwell or a Tioga Central football assistant for a head coach?

When I was learning the retail business from my father he impressed on me the importance of always making the customer feel appreciated. He said when you hand the customer change you always look them in the eye, smile, and say thank you. I’m afraid that is being old fashioned today. Instead of a thank you these days I get here you are, there you are, or have a nice day or some other impersonal remark. One time I asked a clerk why she didn’t say thank you. Her reply was, “Oh, saying that makes me feel silly.” Well, I certainly would not want to make her feel silly but I do want to feel like I’m appreciated. I’m afraid that customer appreciation has gone out of fashion with the simple thank you phrase. One customer more or less doesn’t seem to matter much to that manager or to the company he represents. I’m sorry for him.

I think smoking is stupid. If you smoke, quit. The only thing worse is putting a gun to your head.

I am a retired IBM employee and I am 80 years old. I had to find a health plan for this year like many people and I would like to complain that I’m disappointed in IBM’s health. They have a contractor that we have to call and deal through that explains all the various options to help us decide what would be the best option. I was on the telephone from 10 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon! No breaks. All that time I never asked a question, all I did was listen. A man was explaining all the options, explaining all the various legal issues, and saying my voice would be my signature. I finally, at that point, said yeah that’s fine, all I wanted to do is get off the phone and get it over with, which I did. And even now when talking to my peers, they feel the same way. How can you understand something that took six hours to explain to you? By the way, IBM after working for them for 30 years is so proud of their name; where have they gotten to that as a computer company they can’t tell you in a minute what would be your best bet? I don’t understand that either, however it didn’t stop there. Now I find out and I am getting paperwork from the insurance company I had last year and from the new insurance company. Get this paper signed, get that paper signed, mostly sign and send it back by a special date or else I don’t know. I think IBM could have done a much better job of accumulating data on the retirees, quickly, on what their best would be based on their health concerns over the past few years, which they have a record of. Nobody should expect an 80-year-old person to come up with a healthcare plan and understand it and go through paperwork and phone calls during the busiest months of the year!

So what’s the big deal about a white Christmas? Who cares! It’s just some old silly lyrics from a Bing Crosby song. Also, what’s with all the garbage about this new Star Wars movie? Who cares! Keep it!

~

I would like to say thank you very much to the nice gentlemen at the dollar store in Owego who got my son a couple of toys. Thank you very much and God bless you and Merry Christmas!

~

All I want for Christmas is the ability to turn right on red on North Avenue near the Calaboose restaurant. Come on New York State DOT; get your act together, your backing traffic up all through the Village. You could at least allow it after 6:00 at night or something instead of leaving it 24 hours a day. It’s ridiculous!

Let’s hear it for a great conservative victory in South America. A conservative coalition just won the election in Venezuela by ousting socialist buffoons who gave Venezuela a hundred percent inflation rate and horrible medical care. This should be a lesson to U.S. voters to dump the national socialist candidate Hillary whose only claim to fame is to be the wife of Bill Clinton.

This call is pertaining to all the New Yorkers who think fracking would be a good idea for Upstate New York. You need to contact the Pennsylvania residents who have dealt with fracking and ask them how bad they have been screwed over by the gas companies. There has been a certain gentleman who has been in three local newspapers in Pennsylvania showing his 16 set monthly check from Chesapeake. So before New York State thinks it’s going to be a life savior thing for them, look across the border and see how bad the gas companies have screwed over the Pennsylvanians.

~

What Owego needs for Christmas and all through the year are more parking spaces. It’s very difficult to get a parking space. And more public bathrooms. Put that on the wish list.

Here’s a fact for you democratic dummies. Your champion Hillary Clinton wants to take guns away from ordinary citizens. Do you think she’d also take the guns away from the secret service that protects her and sweet hubby Bill for life at our expense? I think not. Why does she want to take our guns? Because she and the other democrats are so crooked that they are afraid that they’ll be caught up with. If she wants our guns she can come to my house first.

~

Obama has just said, “Isis is not a threat to the U.S.” Give me a break! Instead, he concentrates on global warming, gun control and destroying the coal and oil industry. The shame is we have to wait for the 2016 elections to send the Marxist democrats packing.

Is there someone or an organization who puts in porches and ramps for low income senior citizens with disabilities in walking, this is badly needed. If so, please contact this column with your phone number and we will get back with you.
