On Sunday, Dec. 6, the Candor Masonic Lodge #411 invited Santa to visit the residents of the Candor Senior Complex on Spencer Road. Not unusual, as the Masons have helped Santa and his elves bring the spirit of Christmas to the seniors for the past ten years.

Although there was no snow to herald in the holiday cheer, the residents waited in anticipation for Santa and his elves’ visit.

Sitting on Santa’s lap is mandatory – no one escapes the honor of having Santa quiz them on their behavior over the past year.

Of course the answers are always favorable, although several waiting in line might dispute the facts. And this year was no exception. One by one, the excitement filled the center’s meeting room as those who were able to sit on Santa’s lap, did so, while others unable to, still received a hug and a gift of goodies.

As in the past couple of years, the residents’ grandchildren were also invited to participate and have the opportunity to sit on Santa’s lap, to tell him what they want for Christmas. After Santa handed out presents, songs were sung, ending with We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

A great day of fellowship, friendship, and fun for everyone involved.
