Stray Haven invites the community to join them for their annual holiday open house event on Saturday, Dec. 5, from noon to 4 p.m. at their 194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, N.Y. location. They will have joyful music, gift basket raffles, and plenty of delicious refreshments to share.
In the season of giving, residents in the area are asked to help make the holidays a happy time for the animals. Pet food and cleaning supply donations are welcome to put under the tree. Santa will have small thank you gifts for the children.
Stray Haven will also have their Make A Difference Rewards fundraising cards available for purchase, a gift that gives back to local businesses and supports Stray Haven. Also, if you have been thinking about bringing a cat or dog into your family, now is the perfect time, as all of the animals at the shelter will have reduced adoption fees all day on Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Also, #Giving Tuesday on Wednesday is Dec. 2. Bring your gently used or new holiday décor to Stray Haven for a decorating get-together from 5 to 7 p.m. The staff and volunteers will be dressing up the dog kennels, cat room and office spaces, in preparation for the holiday open house.
Residents can donate decorations during our open hours. Stray Haven is open for adoptions and volunteering Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. These new extended evening hours begin Dec. 1.
