On Nov. 17, 2015, Julie Werkheiser, age 39 of Waverly, N.Y. was found guilty after a jury trial in the Tioga County Court in New York of two counts of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, an A-II felony, for oral sexual conduct against two different children under 13 years of age, according to a release received by the Tioga County District Attorney’s office. The cases were investigated by the Waverly Police Department.

The offenses occurred between July 2006 and November 2007, according to the release, at the Studio J Dance Studio on Broad Street in Waverly, N.Y. where Julie Werkheiser was owner and also worked as a dance instructor.

Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 25, 2016. The minimum sentence for Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child is 10 years to life in state prison and the maximum sentence is 25 years to life in state prison.

The defendant was remanded without bail to the Tioga County Jail after the jury’s verdict, pending sentencing.
