Free theater workshops for youth sponsored by Ti-Ahwaga Community Players

Thanks to a generous grant from the Floyd Hooker Foundation, the Ti-Ahwaga Community Players (TCP) will be offering two workshops this season for the youth of our region. TCP’s first 8-week program will be nine, two-hour sessions from 4 to 6 p.m. during the months of December and January (Dec. 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 28 and 30, and Jan. 4 and Jan. 6).

The workshops will culminate on Jan. 7, when friends, families, and community members are invited to attend TADA!, a montage of monologues, improvisations and scenes, performed by our youth participants.

Students in grades seven to 12 will work with experienced theater teachers to select monologues and participate in theater games and improvisations, inspired by the work of Viola Spolin. They will be able to specialize in an identified area of interest that will be discovered through their workshop participation.
