It’s time to goLEAD

Cornell Cooperative Extension Chemung and Tioga County is pleased to announce a unique and fun state-of-the-art training program designed to teach leadership and community service skills, and is accepting applications from high school students, grades nine through 12. The training will be held in the months of December and January over five meeting times.

goLEAD is a youth leadership training that inspires both adults and young people to engage in meaningful service-learning and leadership skill-building to effect real community change. A state-of-the-art training program, goLEAD teaches leadership and community service skills to high school-age students.

This 30 hour training, held at Chemung County Fairgrounds, 4-H Building in Horseheads, N.Y., includes fun, hands on activities, team building exercises, exploration of creative problem solving, development of critical thinking skills, discovery of community needs, and a small community service project to benefit the local community.

A registration fee of $35 is the only cost to participants for five days of training, meals and an educational program. Applications are due Nov. 20, 2015.
