Bite-Sized Pursuits to offer tips on saving on your taxes

The Tioga County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a breakfast edition of Bite-Sized Pursuits on Thursday, Nov. 19 at Owego’s Parkview Hotel and Restaurant on Front Street. The topic: “Are You Paying Too Much Income Tax? 10 Tips for Individuals to Save” will run from 8 to 9 a.m.

With only a few months left in 2015, now is the time to find ways to maximize your deductions and reduce your tax bills. Discussion topics will include tax credits versus tax deductions, contributing to your retirement, how to make education work for you, and New York State tax saving opportunities.

Kirk Blackman and Brenda Evanek, both CPA’s from Mondorf and Fenwick that specialize in tax planning and preparation, will discuss these topics and more, and will be available for questions.

The cost is $10 ($7 for Tioga Chamber Members) and includes a light breakfast. Reservations are required by Nov. 16.

Call the Tioga Chamber at (607) 687-2020 to reserve your seat today.
