Tioga Downs presents popular Ed Sullivan variety show

Tioga Downs Casino welcomes home Binghamton’s own Paul Terry to headline a Tribute to the Ed Sullivan Show this week. The modern version of the popular American variety show will be offered on Friday, Oct. 23 at 9 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Terry, who grew up in Binghamton, N.Y. and graduated from Chenango Forks High School, performs as Ed Sullivan at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas six nights a week and travels around the country for special events like this.

During its 23 year run, the Ed Sullivan Show was the first to bring talented performers into American living rooms beginning in 1948. The baby boomer generation witnessed breakthrough acts by popular 1950s and 1960s musicians such as Elvis Presley, the Beatles and the Beach Boys.

“Years ago, the Ed Sullivan Show broke new ground in the entertainment world. We are confident those who remember the show will enjoy reliving those days, while younger generations will enjoy the opportunity to experience them for the first time,” said Tioga Downs’ owner Jeff Gural.

For the ticket price of $10 per show, fans can relive the magic with the star-studded cast of Elvis, Ricky Nelson, Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland. Tickets are available at the Tioga Downs gift shop and all Ticketmaster outlets, including Ticketmaster.com.
