Tioga County Historical Society celebrates summer 

Step back in time and celebrate summer in style at the Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social and Pie Baking Contest at the Tioga County Historical Society. Watch as members of the community compete in the pie-baking contest, while enjoying refreshing scoops of ice cream.

Cool down from the hot summer day by relaxing under the trees at the Tioga County Historical Society on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. Neighbors, friends, and guests can enjoy homemade desserts and socialize. Get back to the good old days at the Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social and Pie Baking Contest.

Do you think you have the best pie recipe in the history of pie recipes? Enter their pie-baking contest. Winners receive bragging rights and a yet undisclosed prize.

The judges for the pie contest will be the Blackbird Bakery and Eatery and The Kitchen Store, both located in Owego. To read contest rules, and to sign up your pie, visit tiogahistory.org/pie-contest/.

The cost is $3 for ice cream or pie tasting, $5 for ice cream and pie tasting, and children are free.
