The Tioga County Board of Elections (BOE) required registration for the Sept. 10 primaries at their new location at 1062 State Route 38 in Owego. Although the date has passed, an updated registration form, postmarked no later than Friday, Aug. 21, must be received at their office. This is specific to residents who have relocated from the area, and are still registered.
This year’s local Primary Election will be on Thursday, Sept. 10, from noon to 9 p.m. at assigned regular voting locations.
There is a countywide Republican Primary for Tioga County Clerk. In the Town of Candor there is also a Republican Primary for the Town Clerk with three candidates – Nancy L. Leonard, Patricia A, Halstead, and incumbent Connie M. Kulze.
In the Town of Tioga there is also a Republican Primary for the Town Clerk between Karen Wells and incumbent Brenda L. Middendorf. There is also a Town of Tioga Justice Republican Primary between Miranda Fisher and incumbent Paul L Martin Jr.
Richford is the only town with a Democratic Primary for two Councilman seats between William E. Stell Sr., Cynthia J Herrick and Ricky L Brown.
