On July 18, 2015 at approximately 6:18 p.m., the Chenango Bridge Fire Department assisted the New York State Police and Broome County Dive Team to investigate a missing swimmer at a quarry located at 1564 State Rte 12, Chenango, N.Y.
According to police, the swimmer was located by the New York State Police Scuba Team on July 19, 2015 and identified as Robert Burts, age 20 of 23 Travis Ave., Binghamton, N.Y.
An autopsy is scheduled for July 20, 2015 at Wilson Hospital. The investigation is continuing at this time.
