Themed painting for July – ‘Abstract Expressionist Flag’ – inspired by artist Jasper Johns.

Cork and Canvas classes are now being held in Waverly, N.Y. These classes are fun-filled and no experience necessary, which allows adults the chance to come together and socialize while they paint.

Each month, instructor Elizabeth Ellis will offer a different themed painting as she walks each participant through the step-by-step process of creating his or her individual piece of art.

July’s theme – ‘Abstract Expressionist Flag’ – is inspired by artist Jasper Johns. The class will be held at The LOOM on 439 Waverly St. in Waverly N.Y. on Thursday, July 9 from 6 to 8 p.m.; doors open at 5:30 p.m. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase.

The cost for each class is $35 per person and will cover all arts supplies required to complete the project. There are 20 seats per class and paid reservations are required to hold your spot.

Call the Bradford County Regional Arts Council (BCRAC) office to reserve tickets, (570) 268-ARTS (2787). The class begins at 6:00pm, but please arrive 15 minutes early for setup. Can’t make it in July, watch for the August class at The LOOM.
