Wreckless Marci will headline Friday Night’s Block Party, June 19, with a performance at the Courthouse Square from 8 to 9:45 p.m.

A band that formed 15 years ago has announced they will be rocking out at this year’s annual Strawberry Festival. On Friday, June 19 from 8 to 9:45 p.m., Wreckless Marci will appear on the main stage at the Courthouse Square, and just prior to the evening’s fireworks over the river.

Established by lead guitarist Craig Palmer and drummer Matt Jensen in 2001, the band expanded in more recent years by adding Mark Sedlock on bass and Sonny Weeks on vocals and guitar. They formed together with a common goal in mind; to become Binghamton’s favorite party band.

Influenced by Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, and Ween Van Hale, the crew plays classical, modern, and dance rock. However, if they were to open up for any band they would choose Green Day.

Some of their favorite places to play are Thirsty’s, Nathanael Greene’s Pub, and Annie’s. Last year they performed at the Mohegan Sun Pocono Downs Battle of the Bands and landed second place out of 40 bands.

Fans can find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/wreckless.marci or can contact the band by email at wrecklessmarci@gmail.com.

If you would like to speak to Craig personally, the number to reach him at is (607) 621-1742.
