NYSEG increases are a reality

Dear Editor,

I would never say that the CEO of NYSEG would say anything wrong to support his statement, but I will say that he can stretch a point to prove that point.

Mr. Lynch says that it has been nearly four years since NYSEG has had a rate change. This is May 2015.

The last NYSEG increase was in September of 2012. That was two years and eight months ago and a far cry from nearly four years ago that he claims, unless you are arguing for a better than 10 percent increase in both the electric and gas rates for local and Rochester customers.

And that is a 20 plus percent increase for anyone who buys both services. If the PSC runs true to form, they will have many public hearings and then approve the change without any objections as they did for the sale of NYSEG to a foreign country.

Sincerely,

Ralpt Telfer
