New York State Police investigate armed robbery

New York State Police investigate armed robberyOn May 30, 2015 at approximately 10:08 p.m., the New York State Police at Binghamton responded to a reported armed robbery at the Family Dollar Store, located at 68 West Front St., Hancock, N.Y.

According to police, the suspect carjacked a Family Dollar employee at gunpoint after the store closed and had her re-open the store where an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the safe.

The suspect then had the employee drive him outside of town where he fled in a small late model dark colored vehicle. Investigation revealed the suspect to possibly be a Hispanic male approximately 5-foot 10-inches to 6-feet tall, of medium build, wearing a bandana covering his face, and dark colored clothing with a black handgun.
