Home Central thanks community, announces Community Yard Sale

Home Central would like to congratulate the winners from the Renovation Celebration grand prize drawings. Winners are Sharon Lewis, winner of a gas lawn mower; Jeff Arnold, winner of a gas string trimmer; Elizabeth Morin, winner of a seven-piece patio set; Thomas Smith, winner of a gas powered pressure washer; and Barbara Tennant, winner of a Weber gas grill.

They would like to thank all who attended the Renovation Celebration on May 16 in Vestal, and congratulate the winners of the hundreds of other prizes that were given away. Home Central would like to extend another big thank you to the Lions Club, Tioga County Chamber of Commerce, and Girl Scouts for being a part of the event.

The management and staff at Home Central were very honored to host so many friends and neighbors for a fun day of giveaways, food, games and sales.

Also, Home Central in Owego is pleased to announce their 2nd annual Community Yard Sale on Saturday, June 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Owego Home Central.

Do you have old stuff sitting around in your attic or garage that you would love to sell in a yard sale? Do you live on a back road or low-traffic street with no visibility for a garage sale?

If those questions ring true for you, consider giving a small fee to help a good cause and join Home Central for a Community Yard Sale. After many years of collecting old merchandise, unsold special orders and overstocks, the staff at Home Central is gearing up for the sale.

Home Central is inviting people to pay a minimal $15 fee to set up a yard sale booth on the lawn surrounding the Owego store located at 151 Central Ave. All booth fees will go directly to support Owego Little League, and there will be food on hand as an additional fundraiser for this local organization.

Spaces will measure approximately 10’x20’ and anyone wishing to participate is asked to contact Sam at Home Central at (607) 687-3284 or by email to srobinson@homecentralstores.com for more details and to receive a sign-up form. If you have a local non-profit looking for exposure, contact them for information on how you can be a part this event.

The staff at Home Central is looking forward to hosting this event and they invite friends and neighbors throughout the village to make this a large community garage/yard sale day. While Home Central has space for 50 spots immediately adjacent to the store, there is also plenty of room to expand the event into their back parking lot and even the old McMaster Street ball field should the need arise.

Come to downtown Owego on Saturday, June 6, for great events around town to include the Master Gardeners’ Plant Sale, St. Patrick’s Yard Sale and Flea Market, and Home Central’s Community Yard Sale.
