St. Patrick School’s fifth graders conducted their annual Memorial Day Service at 9 a.m. Monday, May 18, in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Gold Star Mother Mrs. Barbara Bilbrey spoke from her heart what it means to lose a son in a war and remember his memory the day after his birthday and for Memorial Day. She stood with the students next to the decorated grave of her Fallen Hero son Army Specialist Charles Bilbrey killed by an IED in Iraq.

Afterward Donald Eckerson’s students placed small American flags on the graves of over 200 veterans from all wars buried in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
