Where is the state money?

Dear Editor,

On May 19, 2015 I’m asking all Owego Apalachin School District taxpayers to come out and vote ‘NO’ on the OACSD school budget. New York State is giving the district $1.6 Million dollars in State aid for the 2015-2016 budget. BUT the OACSD Superintendent and School Board want more money from the local taxpayers; over a half a million dollars.

The Superintendent and School Board want you to approve a budget of $43,705,000 million dollars. Let’s make them roll this back due to the money they’ll be receiving from New York State.

I ask every taxpayer; don’t you think that $1.6 million dollars is enough extra State aid money to run the school district? Why do they need $2.2 million dollars?

Please vote ‘NO’ on May 19, 2015.

Sincerely,

Candy Sweppenheiser

Owego, N.Y.
