Foster Homes needed for homeless kittens

As is the case every spring, animal shelters across the U.S. are at capacity with their feline populations. It’s the time of year where litters of newborn kittens and mother cats seem to appear on every street corner. Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA is asking for your help in giving these babies a fair chance at life.

There are currently several litters of kittens that are only a few weeks old that will not be ready for adoption for one to two months. Stray Haven is seeking foster homes for these animals. If you have an area in your home that a mother cat and a litter can safely stay in for the next few weeks, please call (607) 565-2859. Survival rates of these tiny babies greatly increases outside of the shelter environment. The stressors and illness that are associated with living in a shelter cage often take a toll on immature immune systems.

Foster cats need to be kept indoors only, and away from current cats in a home. Food can be provided by the shelter if requested. Stray Haven is located at 194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, N.Y. 14892.
