Nick Klossner’s Binghamton Future 9th grade basketball team played in the Syracuse Nets Adidas U.S. and Canadian Continental Cup Qualifying tournament last weekend. They went 2-2 and took 3rd place in the 9th grade division.

In pool play they beat the D-Squad and Wild Cats, then lost to DC United out of Canada. In the semi-final game they lost a very close game to the ICC Truth out of Rochester, N.Y.

The Future’s 3rd place win qualified them to attend the 2015 Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival in Cleveland, Ohio. The tournament runs from July 2 to July 5 and hosts teams from all over the U.S., Canada and around the world. They have multiple sports in the tournament including basketball, baseball and soccer.

This will be Klossner’s 3rd year in a row attending the tournament. Last year he played in the 2014 Continental Cup tournament with Binghamton Future and in 2013 he played with Ithaca Elite.
