The Owego Fire Department, in conjunction with the Owego Elks, Town of Owego Supervisor Don Castellucci, and the American Red Cross are hosting a community blood drive in honor of longtime Owego Firefighter Dennis (Denny) Reynolds on Thursday, April 2, at the Owego Elks located at 223 Front St. in Owego. The blood drive will take place from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Reynolds is a 43-year member of the Owego Fire Department, belonging to Croton Hose Company #3. He is currently the department’s treasurer and historian.

In the past, Denny has served as Tioga County Director for the Central New York Firemen’s Association (CNYFA) – a post he held for several years dating back to the 1990s.

Denny has been a mainstay in the department, especially as black jack dealer during the department Monte Carlo nights and supporting both Owego’s and Tioga Center’s After Prom Parties. He also is on the Owego Fallen Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament Committee.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Denny has been a dedicated public servant to the Owego community for nearly a half century.

Denny has battled several health related issues recently. Prospective donors can call 1-800-733-2767 or visit www.redcrossblood.org to book their life saving appointment.
