CCE to host workshop on trees

Would you like to learn how to prune young trees? Do you learn best by doing? Then an upcoming workshop on March 24, sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Tioga County will be of great interest to you.

Young trees are easy to prune and they benefit greatly from annual pruning for the first few years after transplanting. Learn from master arborist Barb Neal the theory behind pruning young trees and then don your safety glasses and gloves and prune trees under her supervision.

Everyone will have a chance to prune young trees. All work will be done from the ground with hand tools.

This hands-on workshop will be held on March 24 from 6 p.m. to dark, beginning at the CCE Tioga offices at 56 Main St. in Owego.

Contact Barb Neal, CCE Tioga, at (607) 687-4020 to register and for more information. There is a $5 fee for this workshop, and if you do not wear glasses, please bring safety glasses and bring gloves to protect your hands.
