The Valley Youth Soccer Association Girls U16 Valley Panthers travel soccer team won their division in the 8th Annual Joe Santacrose Almost March Madness Indoor Soccer Tournament held on Sunday, March 1, at the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex with a final score of 2-1.

The Valley Panthers girls team, coached by Jim Shadduck, played against the Greater Binghamton United Futbol Club Girls 01 Select team, coached by Bahij Kashou which is ranked #1 in New York State West, in the finals for the championship.

The Valley Panthers became the champions after Katy Jefferson made the first goal for their 2-1 victory within the first five minutes of the game and Taylor Reynard scoring the second and game winning goal within the last eight minutes of the game.

The entire team played very well, especially goalie, Brianna Rathbun, who was on fire having only one goal get past her of the numerous shots made on goal by the GBUFC team.
