The rink is ready!

Dear Editor,

In early January I was told that the village had ordered the plastic liner needed to set up the ice rink in Marvin Park, but that they could not get delivery and therefore there would not be a rink this winter.

Now I am happy to say that the village has obtained the plastic liner and that they have set up the rink. That includes the rink wall, a roof, screens to keep out the wind and sun, three picnic tables for skate changing, a snow shovel and a scraper for skaters’ use and lights for use in the evening. There are also two small hockey goal nets.

Outside a small parking area is cleared. Also outside is a faucet to which a garden hose and nozzle can be attached for re-surfacing the ice. The rink is located just west of the track.

Sincerely,

Karl Teimann
