Relay for life send thanks for successful event; planning begins for this year’s event

Dear Editor,

Thank you to all who supported American Cancer Society (ACS) Tioga County Relay for Life (RLF) in 2014; the official total raised was $45,274.93! Our Fay’s Fitness team especially wants to thank the following businesses for their support: Home Central, Pucky Huddle Delight, HL Sand &Gravel with RB Robinson Contracting, The Spencer Agency, Tioga State Bank and Fay’s Fitness, who helped us raise $2,036. Fay’s Fitness has participated with a team since the first Tioga County RFL in 1997.

According to ACS, The ACS Relay for Life movement ranks as the largest community-focused event in the world, raising $380 million in 2013-more than any other walk/run fundraising event. Dollars raised by the 4 million Relay participants in more than 20 countries help the American Cancer Society save lives by supporting education and prevention efforts, funding groundbreaking cancer research, and providing free information and services for people with cancer who need them.

Please join us as planning starts for 2015! The Tioga County RFL event is planned for Friday, July 24 at 6 p.m., and will run overnight to Saturday, July 25 at 6 a.m. at the Owego Free Academy. Bring your family, stay for an hour or spend the night camping together.
