Hiawatha Hammerheads win Greater Binghamton Jack Frost Soccer Tournament Championship

The Hiawatha Hammerheads soccer team won the Under-10 Boys Championship at the Greater Binghamton Jack Frost Indoor Soccer Tournament in Johnson City, New York on Sunday, Jan. 18.

The Hiawatha Hammerheads, also known as the ESP10A, finished undefeated to earn first place in their pool over teams from Dunmore, Pa., Fayetteville-Manlius and Greater Binghamton United Futbol Club Select to advance to the championship match in which they defeated the GBUFC Select Team by the score of 5 to 0 to win the tournament title.

Several Hammerheads players had outstanding performances throughout the event, led by goalkeeper Addison Young, who allowed just one goal in net through the course of the entire tournament.

The Hammerheads team is part of the Hiawatha Soccer Association of Owego and presently includes players from Apalachin, Candor and Owego.
