The NAC is the elected representative body of the Feeding America’s network of food banks. The NAC gives voice to the Members at the national level and helps the Feeding America set goals and policies that affect the entire Network.

“Representing the Eastern region on the NAC for the past two years has been a tremendous honor as well as a terrific opportunity to bring new ideas from around the Nation back to the Southern Tier,” said Thompson. “Next year will be an exciting time to serve as Vice Chair with the Feeding America network to build and sustain hunger-free communities all across America and right here in the Southern Tier.”

Established in 1981 and headquartered in Elmira, N.Y., the Food Bank of the Southern Tier distributes food and other grocery products to people in need through a network of more than 160 member agencies including food pantries, meal kitchens, shelters and other hunger relief organizations in Broome, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga and Tompkins Counties.
