Tioga United Way suggests end of year giving to help the community

In a press release received from Brian Eldridge, Tioga United Way’s director, he described this year’s campaign as “not looking too robust”. He added, “It is tracking very close to the last campaign, which barely met 80 percent of the target. That shortfall caused a $40,000 reduction in contributions to our Partner Agencies this coming year.”

The Tioga United Way plays an important role in providing services to over 16,000 residents of Tioga County. They help feed the hungry, they help seniors age in the comfort of their homes, they help provide a safe after-school place for kids, they help remove those in abusive households, they help support unique therapies for children with disabilities, and a number of other support services that provide that thread which could be the difference between keeping a family together, or not. There is much need in Tioga County, and they want to be able to fill the gaps.

Tioga United Way would be grateful to anyone considering year-end gifting. It truly makes a difference, Eldridge added in the release.
