Angels work to help troops this holiday season

Angels over Afghanistan and Iraq recently joined together to bake cookies that will be included in the 14 large items packed and shipped to those serving overseas.

Austyn Conti coordinated The Angels over Afghanistan and Iraq group, along with the V.F.W. Post 1371 Junior Girls on Dec. 7 when they baked 61 pie tins of cookies and included them in the 14 large boxes of items that they packed and shipped to the soldiers serving our country overseas. The group is hoping to bring a little bit of holiday cheer to them and know that they are in our thoughts and prayers.

The Angels’ next fundraiser is Jan. 29 at Everybody’s Bulk Food with Doug’s Fish Fry. Please mark your calendar and plan on purchasing your lunch and/or dinner that day while supporting our soldiers.

A big thanks is extended to the “Two of Santa’s Elves”. Their donation will help with the Angels with the shipping cost to continue sending packages to our deployed soldiers.
