T.A.L.L. offering computer classes for adults

The Tioga Adult Learning Lab (T.A.L.L.), a program of Literacy Volunteers of Broome/Tioga Counties, Inc., in collaboration with Tioga County, N.Y. is now registering adults to attend basic skills computer classes to be held the months of January, February, and March 2015. There is no charge for this computer instruction.

Beginning Jan. 6, 2015, the comprehensive basic skills class of “The Basics of Microsoft Windows, Word & Excel” will be offered. This 6-week class, geared at beginner and intermediate level computing, will meet Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Students will learn the basics of the Microsoft Windows operating system, and learn skills in Microsoft Word (a word-processing program) and Excel (a spreadsheet program). Pre-registration is required by contacting the Literacy Volunteers office at (607) 778-6406.

The following classes are also offered: “E-Mail Basics”, offered Monday, Jan. 12; Thursday, Jan. 29; or Tuesday, Feb. 24 (choose one session). “Internet Made Easy!” will be offered on Monday, Jan. 26 or Tuesday, March 10 (choose one session). “Basics of Microsoft PowerPoint 2010” will be meeting on Monday, Feb. 2 and Thursday, Feb. 5 (attend both evenings). “Basics of Microsoft Publisher 2010” will meet on Monday, Feb. 9.

All classes will meet evenings, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room 248 at the Owego Free Academy, Sheldon Guile Boulevard, Owego, N.Y.

Students must be pre- registered to attend, and can do so by calling the Literacy Volunteers office at (607) 778-6406. You can also call for any questions regarding the T.A.L.L. program.
