Every holiday season, shop owners throughout the historic Village of Owego shopping district work to create winter window displays that celebrate the season and showcase their unique goods. The Tioga County Tourism Office holds a window-decorating contest in conjunction with the Lights on the River Festival. It was stiff competition this year as the Owego shops had so many wonderful winter and holiday displays.
Lights on the River Window Decorating Awards went to the following:
The Most Dazzling Award goes to Lily Style Loft for their dazzling display of lights and stylish winter clothing!
The Holiday Spirit Award is a tie between Riverrow Book Shop for their Christmas Trees made out of books, complete with lights; and The Artisan’s Townhouse for their themed Christmas Trees and holiday art display!
The Most Locally Inspired Award goes to Gallery Forty-One’s cozy holiday home scene using artisan crafts made locally by their members.
The Best All-Around Window Display goes to Katie’s Kreations for their festive winter scene and traditional country Christmas display.
Congratulations to the winners! Stop by the historic downtown Owego shopping district to view the winners and all of the merry holiday window displays that create an authentic, small-town Christmas atmosphere while you shop and dine!
