BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that Grandmother’s Thimble, a BERNINA Dealer in Vestal, N.Y. is hosting two Sewapalooza events on Friday, Dec. 12 and Saturday, Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. BERNINA Educator Tari Intardonato will lead attendees through three projects using quilting, embroidery, and BERNINA’s DesignWorks Software Suite.
Each day costs $65 and includes all project supplies, use of BERNINA machines and accessories, goodie bags, door prizes, and lunch. The events will take place at American Legion Post 89, located at 118 S. Jensen Rd. in Vestal. To register, call (607) 797-7022 or stop by the store.
BERNINA’s DesignWorks Software Suite is comprised of three components – CutWork, PaintWork, and CrystalWork—that turn any embroidery machine into a multimedia tool. With CutWork, shapes, patterns and designs can be cut from multiple layers of fabric. PaintWork allows the application of pen drawings to fabric and textiles. CrystalWork gives the ability to create crystal appliqué patterns for textiles and garments.
Tari Intardonato earned a bachelor’s degree in vocational home economics and taught high school home economics in Oklahoma. She married and moved to the Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas area where she sold BERNINA products and taught classes in sewing techniques and operating BERNINA machines. She later managed a BERNINA Sewing Center and continued to teach classes about BERNINA products, as well as teach sewing projects before becoming a BERNINA Educator.
