Owego Middle School (OAMS) student Tyler Howe, and Vestal Middle School (VMS) student Hyeree Kim, along with family members, were guests at the Apalachin Lions Club’s Oct. 22 meeting. The two students were winners of the 28th Annual Peace Poster Contest – Peace, Love and Understanding sponsored by the Apalachin Lions and Lions International.
Over 53 students participated in the contest with Tyler Howe and Hyeree Kim winning posters slated to go on for judging at the Lions district level. If selected they will be forwarded to Lions International for judging against entries from over 150 countries.
Lion Terry White presented each of the winners with a $50 savings bond. President William Brown expressed appreciation to teachers Jolene Williams from OAMS and Leigh Kaminsky from VMS for the time and effort they expended on this project.
