Tinsel-n-Lights coming soon to Waverly

Ice sculpting is just one event to enjoy at this year’s Tinsel-n-Lights holiday festival on Dec. 12, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Waverly’s Muldoon Park.

The temperatures are getting colder and that can only mean one thing – Tinsel-n-Lights will be here soon! Mark your calendar for the 11th Annual Tinsel-n-Lights holiday festival on Friday, Dec. 12, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Muldoon Park in Waverly.

Tinsel-n-Lights is a free, family holiday festival that offers something for everyone. Festivities include holiday music from local musicians, live reindeer, horse and wagon rides, ice sculpting, local dancers, warming fires, and food and refreshments. A highlight of the evening will be Santa’s arrival at 6 p.m.

“Tinsel-n-Lights is the perfect time to kick off your holidays,” said Dr. Joseph Picco, Tinsel-n-Lights committee member.

He added, “We have so many activities going on at Muldoon Park, the Waverly Presbyterian Church and Waverly Baptist Church, that everyone is sure to be entertained by some aspect. It is also a great opportunity to socialize with your friends and neighbors at this special time of the year. We thank the very generous donations from local businesses and individuals because without them, we would not be able to provide Tinsel-n-Lights.”

Committee members have been working hard throughout the year to make this year’s Tinsel-n-Lights a memorable experience. Committee members include Dr. Joseph Picco, DDS; Renee Kinsley, CPA; Randy Richards, superintendent at Waverly Central School; Jessica Schillmoeller, project coordinator for Workers Ownership Resource Center; Fred Daniels, Lions Club; Patsy Croft; Charlie Havens, Waverly Recreation; Kristi Zimmer; and Rebecca Maffei, director of Tioga County Tourism.
