Owego schools begin annual holiday drive

On Nov. 17, the Owego Apalachin Middle School began collecting food and other items during its annual holiday drive to benefit Tioga County Rural Ministry. The event will continue until Dec. 19.

Students can bring non-perishable food items into school to be collected in their homerooms.

Community members who are able to donate items can send donations into OAMS with a student, or they can drop off items in the OAMS Welcome Center office (front entrance).

There are certain items that are in high need, such as: spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, canned veggies and canned fruit, canned tuna and chicken, toilet paper, paper towels, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, dish washing and laundry detergent, and even diapers.
