In celebration of Everybody’s Bulk Food Market’s one-year anniversary, a ribbon-cutting event was held on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014 at the store located at 596 Fifth Ave. in Owego, N.Y.  Attending were owners Kim and Tim Sullivan, family, friends and the community, local government officials, and representatives from the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce.

Whether you’re a foodie, a baker or a cook, or just want a new shopping destination for quality food products, Everybody’s Bulk Food Market offers over 500 choices of every day and specialty items where customers receive top-notch service. Kim Sullivan shared, “We pride ourselves in offering a higher level of customer service.”

Everybody’s Bulk Food Market is defined just as the name states; it is designed for every type of customer. Within the last year, hundreds of new items have been added to the store, including organic essential oils. Customers will find local roasted coffees like Finger Lakes brewed and whole bean, snack mixes, cookies, candies, Lake Champlain chocolates, dip mixes, soup fixings, local maple syrup and raw honey, Jake & Amos pickled products, New York State made beef jerky, Nunda mustards, LeRaysville cheese, Amish Roll Butter, farm fresh eggs, summer sausage, Kutztown sodas, baking supplies, nuts, hot and cold drink mixes, dried fruits, and an endless selection of spices, to name just a few.

Store associate Pam Benesh explained, “The store appeals to everybody.  We do have organic, gluten free and sugar free products, but there is a misconception that we are a health food store.”

The Sullivan’s and Benesh welcome you to stop by and experience a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. Daily samples of fresh brewed coffee and snacks are offered, and convenient shopping baskets are provided while you browse. A beautiful view overlooking the Susquehanna River awaits you on the back deck of Everybody’s Bulk Food Market, a perfect spot for a coffee break.

The motto of Everybody’s Bulk Food Market is, “Buy a little – or buy a lot.”  With the exception of gluten-free products, all products are bought in bulk quantities and then repackaged for customer convenience. Special orders are welcomed.

As a way to partner and support the local community, the Sullivan’s display brochures and cards in the store from other local businesses. Customers who dine at Calaboose Grill will find that Calaboose uses Everybody’s Bulk Food Market’s gluten-free products in their homemade hamburger and sandwich rolls; and for patrons of the Farm House Brewery, snacks that are provided on the bar counters come from Everybody’s Bulk Food Market.

For holiday gift giving or any special occasion, Everybody’s Bulk Food Market offers custom-made gift sets in a festive bag, or there is a selection of gift bags ready for purchase. For example, a recent gift bag displayed included a one-half pound bag of Finger Lakes coffee, a pottery coffee mug made by local artisan Andrew N. Fitzsimmons of Owego’s Elephant Ear Studio, as well as several other goodies inside. Another great idea, customers can give the gift of food with a gift certificate from Everybody’s Bulk Food Market.

Future goals for Everybody’s Bulk Food Market include a building expansion, which will house a full service deli with extra tables and seating for customers to enjoy the spectacular river view.
