On Oct. 27, 2014 at approximately 1:27 p.m., the New York State Police at Sidney responded to a shooting which occurred in the parking lot of 2907 State Route 7 in the Town of Bainbridge, Chenango County.
Derek D. Prindle, age 26 of Afton, N.Y. was taken to Tri Town Hospital in Sidney, N.Y. where he later died. Derek S. Prindle, age 60 of Afton, N.Y. was taken to Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City, N.Y. and is being treated for a gunshot wound.
John M. Guzy, age 56 of Bainbridge, N.Y. was taken into custody at State Police Sidney and has been charged with Murder in the Second Degree.
John M. Guzy was arraigned in the Town of Bainbridge Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail. The investigation is continuing.
