At the Newark Valley Chamber of Commerce monthly meeting held recently, a $500 check was donated to the Newark Valley Fire Department.
The Fire Department was chosen to benefit from some of the proceeds from the Duck Race annual fundraiser held in August during Newark Valley days this year.
Chris Leach, president of the Newark Valley Chamber of Commerce, presented the check. President Mike Simmons and Tim Duda were present on behalf of the Fire Department to receive the funds.
These funds will be used to purchase equipment for the department.
On behalf of the Newark Valley Chamber of Commerce Board and its members, they would like to thank everyone for their support of the fundraising effort.
