E.V.E. Newcomers Club celebrated their anniversary

E.V.E. Newcomers Club celebrated their anniversary

Forty past and present members of the E.V.E. Newcomers Club celebrated their 75th Anniversary with a High Tea on Sunday, Oct. 5, at the Pumpelly House located at 44 Front St. in Owego, N.Y.

Past and present members arrived from Binghamton, Endicott, Vestal, Chenango Bridge, Owego, Canada and England. Songs from the Carousel Harmony Chorus “Remember When” Quartet entertained the club.

The club was formed on Sept. 27, 1939, and the original meetings were held in the Washington Tea Room in Endicott.

Current monthly meetings are held at the Vestal Library the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Interest groups include Book Review, Lunch Bunch, Scrap booking, Canasta, Mahjongg, and Lunch and A Movie.
