Cub Scout Pack 43 begins service project supporting Tioga Hills Elementary

APALACHIN — Cub Scout Pack 43 will be participating in a community service project to support students and teachers at Tioga Hills Elementary by collecting school supplies throughout the end of September and October. We’ll then deliver everything we collect to the school in November, around Thanksgiving.

One of the most important parts of Scouting is teaching our kids that being helpful, kind, and giving back to our community can make a real difference. School supplies are used and replaced all year long—not just on the first day of school—so this is a simple way for our Scouts to help local children and teachers right here in our own community.

Help spread the word, share them at local businesses, workplaces, churches, community bulletin boards, or with friends and family who may want to participate.

This is also a great opportunity to involve your Scout! Have them help — ask a local business if they can hang a flyer, explain what Pack 43 is collecting, or help gather and sort donations. We want our Scouts to understand that this isn’t simply a supply drive—it’s their Pack 43 service project and an opportunity to put the Scout Law into action.

There is absolutely no required donation amount. One box of crayons, a pack of pencils, a box of tissues, or a few glue sticks all add up when our Pack and community work together.

Donations can be brought to any Pack or Den Meetings throughout September and October and we’ll combine everything for our November delivery to Tioga Hills. Thank you for helping our Scouts Do a Good Turn for Tioga Hills!
