LTE: Message of affordability

Dear Editor: They were here; and now they’re baaaaaaaack. The far-left Democratic National Socialists of America have made the cohesive presentation of a unified opposition party platform difficult. So the two halves of the Democrat Party, the “Capitalism is the problem half” and the “it’s all Trump’s fault half” have coalesced on a message of “affordability.”

This messaging is not an easy thing to pull off since almost every factor affecting our affordability was put in place by them. They are laboring to cleanse the collective memory of what happened in the years between 2021 and 2025. The Affordable Care Act, “Obamacare” with its massive disruptive effects and subsidies is too distant a memory but the wound lingers.

The “strawberries on the Biden policy Sunday” include the war on fossil fuels, which led to $5 gas, $6 diesel and large shortages of fertilizer, leading to food shortages. Lest we not forget the reckless draining of the Strategic Fuel Reserve to mask fuel inflation. If that weren’t enough, both locally and nationally, they declared the immediate necessity for the Green New Scam. This led to the potential banning of fossil fuels for cooking, heating and production processes, including farming. This was all done with no proven alternatives available. So what if we now have solar farms made in China— which they don’t use— high maintenance, low efficiency windmills, made in Europe, and very expensive to repair. These decisions have also led to Al Gore’s wealth beyond his dreams, and are contributing to the impending collapse of the European Union.

The “hot fudge on your sunday” was his opening the borders to all comers. So, in the name of compassion, they allowed the invasion of an estimated 20 million people. This alone had several negative effects. First, this has caused an approximate 30% increase in housing and rental costs— more people on a fixed housing supply – Economics 101.

“Nuts for your Biden Sunday?” 20 million job seekers forced down the wages of the most vulnerable Americans, blue collar workers and laborers, just when they had started to rise. Low-skill migrants, working for cash, with no benefits, overwhelm the entry level job market locking out the neediest domestic labor applicants, Economics 102.

“Sorry I thought you wanted soft-serve Mr. President.” The massive over-spending during the Covid pandemic, while simultaneously shutting down the entire economy led to a 9% per year inflation rate and over 4 years, 28% inflation. We are only just discovering the extent of the malfeasance with the investigations, indictments, and convictions for the Medicaid and Learning Center scamsters.
“Do you want a lid on that?” Finally, the left has taken the position that Billionaires, the capitalists who cause “income inequality” are the reason the average people don’t have money, “income equity.” Never you mind that Elon Musk created his wealth by making and building, and, oh by the way, made over 4,000 of his workers millionaires. Only independent and right leaning Billionaires, are targets of course. George Soros, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Bill and Melinda Gates, Nevil Roy Singham, who fund AOC, and Bernie’s private jets are temporarily excluded from direct action. If history is any guide, their day will come when “the people are all equal” and that’s “the cherry on top.”

In conclusion, the left is attempting to create the illusion that they will handle the economy better. Unfortunately, the prices at the retail level are a “lagging indicator.” The current administration has made the hard choices necessary to put the economy on the right track. The left claims they will save the day, and they will take credit for the benefits. When they return to power, in an economy created for them, they will systematically disassemble it with ideological malfeasance and incompetence.
