Encounter invites community to Sportsman’s Night Out

MILAN ­­— Encounter Church is excited to welcome the community to its upcoming Sportsman’s Night Out, an evening of fellowship, inspiration, and fun for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike. The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. at Encounter Church on Rt. 220 in Milan. Doors open at 6 p.m. with coffee available in the Bold Cup Café.

The evening will feature a special presentation by local outdoorsman Russ Brelsford, who grew up hunting the woods of Bradford County. In what’s become his life’s passion, he’s pursued big game in the U.S. West, as well as Maine and Canada. He recently traveled to South Africa in pursuit of game in the plains. On Sept. 12, he will be presenting this incredible hunting adventure through captivating videos, breathtaking pictures and riveting stories. He not only harvested multiple animals but also experienced an unexpected blessing and incredible life-changing opportunity.

“This is one of those hunting adventures that will be with me for a lifetime. All my expectations were exceeded; I saw and experienced things that will be forever branded in my heart and mind,” Brelsford says. “I experienced the luxury of an amazing hunting lodge but also saw poverty like never before and visited a South African orphanage bearing gifts for the children and witnessing the joy a small gift can bring to a child.”

The public is invited to experience Brelsford’s stories, as well as an encouraging message that reflects the values of faith, family, and the great outdoors. In addition to Brelsford’s presentation, you can look forward to an evening of community fellowship, several door prize drawings and opportunities to meet fellow sportsmen and others who share those interests in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.
Admission is free and open to the public. Proceeds from a voluntary goodwill offering will support Encounter Church’s October mission trip to Senegal.
